Summary
At the dawn of the 21st century, Earth once again comes under threat from the Org devil clan, malevolent spirits bent on returning the world to chaos. In response, the Power Animals, ancient guardian beasts dwelling upon a mystical aerial island, select five young humans whose spirits resonate strongly with nature. These individuals become the Gaorangers, warriors empowered by the essences of their respective animal totems.
- Gao Red — So (Kaneko), a former veterinarian, becomes the King of Beasts, embodying the lion. He fights with ferocious close‑quarters techniques, including his signature Lion Fang strikes.
- Gao Yellow — Gaku (Horie), once a pilot cadet, becomes the King of Birds, channeling the power of the eagle and commanding the winds in aerial combat.
- Gao Blue — Kai (Shibaki), a determined hunter, becomes the King of Water, a shark incarnate whose abilities excel in aquatic environments.
- Gao Black — Sotaro (Sakai), a former sumo wrestler, becomes the King of the Prairie, drawing on the strength of the bison and occasionally succumbing to uncontrollable berserker fury.
- Gao White — Sae (Takeuchi), a skilled martial artist, becomes the Queen of the Forests, channeling the agility and ferocity of the tiger.
The team is later joined by:
- Gao Silver — Tsukumaro / Osamu (Tamayama), a warrior who battled the Org a millennium earlier. Reborn as the wolf incarnate, he is over a thousand years old (chronologically 1062) and brings ancient knowledge and formidable combat skill to the modern team.
Together, the Gaorangers wield the combined might of their Power Animals to repel the Org threat and preserve the natural balance of the world.
