Summary
On the day Lin Zhao Xi learns that her father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, she also discovers that her long-time crush, Pei Zhi, is leaving the country to pursue further studies. His unwavering dedication to mathematics only deepens her belief that she can never match the brilliance of a true prodigy. Yet two unexpected journeys into parallel worlds reveal a potential she never knew she possessed.
In her own reality, Lin Zhao Xi’s post‑university life has been unremarkable. Although the love of mathematics was planted in her early on, years of admiring her father Old Lin and her first love Pei Zhi, both mathematical geniuses, left her with little confidence. Everything changes when she is mysteriously transported through time and space. In her first parallel world, she finds herself at age twelve and, with Old Lin’s guidance, throws herself into the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Camp. Her second journey takes her to her final year of high school, where she and Pei Zhi gradually learn to face life with courage.
Returning to her original world, Lin Zhao Xi prepares for her postgraduate entrance exams while entering modelling competitions to support her family financially. Determined to help Old Lin as his Alzheimer’s progresses, she and Pei Zhi join forces to advance research on the P = NP problem, striving together toward the summit of mathematical achievement.
