Summary
Following a devastating conflict in the 1980s, world leaders established Hero Corp, an international organisation designed to unite all superheroes under a single structure dedicated to maintaining global peace. The agency operates numerous secret facilities across the planet. One such site, located in the Lozère region, serves as a refuge for retired, dismissed, resigned, or publicly unmasked heroes. Isolated from the outside world, they enjoy a quiet, uneventful existence , until, twenty years later, their tranquillity is shattered by the unexpected return of the supervillain known as The Lord.
According to a prophetic vision received by The Voice, John is the only person capable of preventing the impending catastrophe, though the organisation chooses to conceal this information. Unaware of his supposed destiny, John travels to a small village in southern France for the funeral of his aunt, whom he has not seen in more than a decade. During his stay, he becomes increasingly convinced that the villagers are hiding something from him. A series of strange incidents reinforces his suspicions, and he eventually discovers that the community is secretly composed of retired superheroes , and that a long‑presumed‑dead supervillain is living among them.
