Summary
A long‑standing curse afflicting a man decreed that any child he conceived would transform into bats. The prophecy manifested at the birth of his twins. One infant appeared human but exhibited the volatile temperament, impatience, and hot‑blooded disposition associated with bats. The other was born with the physical characteristics of a bat, including blindness, pronounced sonar capability, and heightened auditory sensitivity. The bat‑like child was abandoned in a rural farming community, while the human‑appearing twin was retained by the family.
Over the years, the twins developed along markedly different paths. Iking, raised within his family, remained gentle‑natured despite being afflicted with nocturnal transformations into a bat. Mateo, the abandoned twin, grew to mirror the cruelty and irascibility of his father, displaying the same volatile temperament and impulsiveness.
Their divergent lives converged when Iking enrolled at the school attended by Mateo, setting the stage for an intertwined fate and an escalating rivalry between the two.
