Summary
Peter Scolari assumes the role of Wayne Szalinski, the eccentric inventor originally portrayed by Rick Moranis in the feature film. Each episode employs new technologies and digital effects to propel the Szalinski family into a fresh series of fantastical adventures.
In one such incident, Wayne, Diane, and Amy are accidentally reduced to near‑microscopic size. Shortly afterward, Grandpa Murdock (Eugene Roche) arrives to collect Nick for a planned fishing trip. Hoping to avoid the outing, Nick feigns illness , but before leaving, he inadvertently swallows his shrunken family, van and all.
Interpreting a coded plea for help that Wayne manages to place in the newspaper, Nick realises what has happened and races to rescue his miniaturised relatives.
