Summary
The first season, comprising six episodes, was broadcast from 27 to 29 May 2019 and was originally conceived as a miniseries. Set primarily in 1989, it centres on U.S. Army scientist Nancy Jaax, who confronts the emergence of a potentially lethal Ebola outbreak. Jaax, a veterinary pathologist, becomes the first to identify the ebolavirus after it is detected in monkeys housed at a Primate Quarantine Facility in Reston, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C. The season received positive critical reception and was subsequently renewed for a second season.
