Summary

Kim Min‑kyu is the principal shareholder of a major financial corporation and lives in isolation due to a severe human allergy that prevents ordinary physical contact. His condition leads him to take interest in Aji‑3, an advanced humanoid robot developed by the Santa Maria research team. The project is led by Hong Baek‑gyun, a world‑renowned robotics professor who designed Aji‑3 in the likeness of his former girlfriend, Jo Ji‑ah, an aspiring inventor who supplements her income by working as a personal shopper.

When Min‑kyu prepares to conduct initial testing on Aji‑3, a battery malfunction renders the robot temporarily unusable. In order to secure continued funding, Baek‑gyun persuades Ji‑ah to impersonate Aji‑3 until repairs can be completed. Her performance as the robot becomes Min‑kyu’s closest approximation to genuine human interaction, gradually transforming the relationship between the isolated executive and the woman posing as his mechanical companion.
