Summary
Humanity has long examined the skies for evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence, yet no definitive signs have been detected. A prevailing hypothesis suggests that the absence of observable contact may be attributable to the possibility that alien life is already present on Earth, concealed within human society. Recent natural disasters have been interpreted by some observers as potential diversions intended to obscure a more significant and undisclosed phenomenon.
During a major hurricane that isolates a small community on the periphery of the Everglades in Florida, U.S. Park Ranger Russell Varon undertakes extensive measures to safeguard both local residents and his family. Amid the storm, Varon’s young daughter reports witnessing small luminous objects drifting toward the water, apparently unaffected by the extreme weather conditions. Although initially dismissed, the incident gains new significance when Varon’s missing ex‑wife is discovered unclothed and suffering from complete memory loss regarding the events of the storm.
As the town attempts to recover and the local sheriff imposes a full quarantine, Varon begins to investigate a series of anomalous occurrences. His inquiries inadvertently place him at the centre of a developing conflict that may determine the future survival of the human species.
