Summary
Island. 2029 is an eight-part Lithuanian science-fiction mystery drama set in 2029. The series follows Guntis, who invites his partner Monika and her two children to live with him in a quiet border town near a power plant. As strange events begin to unfold, including abnormal animals, dying and glowing bees, and unexplained illnesses, the town's peaceful routine is gradually disrupted.
Following a sudden earthquake and catastrophic flooding, the residents discover that their town has become isolated like an island. Cut off from the outside world, they face dwindling hopes of rescue, an unidentified illness, radiation, natural disasters, and the presence of Russian soldiers on a secret mission. As the residents struggle to survive and escape, the mysteries surrounding the catastrophe and the town itself deepen.
