Summary
J is a student born into a family renowned for intellectual achievement. Despite this background, he is characterised as eccentric and socially withdrawn, frequently skipping classes in favour of studying unconventional formulas. His behaviour leads to disciplinary concerns, culminating in a dramatic incident in which he deliberately injures himself by cutting his own face in front of classmates. Following this episode, J disappears without explanation.
Several months later, Chu Xia is instructed by her teacher to deliver a letter to J. Her search leads her to J’s residence, which she discovers to be unusually secretive and enigmatic, suggesting circumstances surrounding his disappearance that extend beyond ordinary student misconduct.
