Summary
Jessica Jones is a superpowered private investigator whose brief career as a superhero ends after the mind‑controlling villain Kilgrave forces her to kill someone. When Kilgrave resurfaces years later, Jessica is compelled to confront him, setting the foundation for the first season’s exploration of trauma, autonomy, and responsibility.
The second season centres on Jessica’s discovery that her mother survived the accident that originally gave Jessica her abilities, the result of experimental procedures conducted by Karl Malus. Their reunion forces Jessica to confront the origins of her powers and the moral consequences of the experiments that shaped her family.
In the third season, Jessica faces two major adversaries: Gregory Sallinger, a meticulous serial killer determined to expose her as a fraud, and her adoptive sister Trish Walker, whose transformation into a violent vigilante brings the series’ long‑running themes of heroism, identity, and corruption to a climax.
