Summary
Minakata Jin is a modern‑day brain surgeon who has spent two years in emotional turmoil after his fiancée falls into a vegetative state following an operation he performed. His life changes abruptly when he collapses at the hospital and awakens in the Edo period. Soon after arriving, he is attacked by a samurai but is rescued by Kyotaro, who suffers a severe head injury while protecting him.
Despite lacking proper medical tools, Jin manages to save Kyotaro’s life, prompting Kyotaro’s sister Saki to take an interest in him and eventually become his assistant. As Jin applies contemporary medical knowledge to help those around him, he remains determined to discover a way to return to his own time.
