Summary

Set in the mid‑twenty‑first century, Jupiter Moon centres on three principal groups of characters whose activities frequently intersect. The first comprises the students of Christopher Columbus College, a small institution of forty‑eight students affiliated with the University of Space. The college is housed aboard the Ilea, a spacecraft customarily stationed in orbit around Callisto, one of Jupiter’s major moons. Callisto serves as the site of Space City, the largest settlement in the Jovian system, with a population of approximately one thousand.

The second group consists of the Ilea’s operational crew. The third is formed by personnel associated with the Daedalus 10 project, an ambitious undertaking intended to produce humanity’s first starship. Construction of the Daedalus 10 is supervised by Professor Charles Brelan within the Jupiter system, where abundant raw materials make large‑scale engineering feasible.

As a space‑based serial drama, Jupiter Moon maintains multiple concurrent narrative threads. While many revolve around interpersonal relationships among the inhabitants of the Ilea, the series consistently incorporates adventure‑oriented and science‑fiction storylines. One of the earliest plots involves a powerful space storm sweeping through the Jovian system and carrying the Ilea with it. Although sustaining damage, the vessel ultimately returns to Callisto, where it is discovered to be the only functioning fusion‑powered ship remaining in the region. This status results in the Ilea being repeatedly requisitioned for missions beyond the scope of a typical academic vessel, including the rescue of a disabled spacecraft, pursuit of space pirates, and participation in a mining expedition to an asteroid located roughly fifty million kilometres away.
