Summary
The long‑forgotten Kassinca, also known as the “Evilution” race, emerge from their subterranean refuge after centuries of concealment, intent on reclaiming and dominating the Earth’s surface. Professor Hiroshi Yumeno, a specialist in dream therapy, recognises the signs of their return and assembles the five‑member Dynaman team to repel the invasion and pursue the realisation of their individual aspirations.
The team is led by Hokuto (Okita), or Dyna Red, whose ambition is to develop a non‑polluting power source. When not engaged in scientific contemplation, he fights with the Dyna Sword. Ryu (Kasuga), designated Dyna Black, dreams of establishing contact with extraterrestrials; he is also a descendant of the Iga ninja clan and excels in covert operations. Yosuke (Unoki), or Dyna Blue, hopes to live permanently underwater through the use of artificial gills. Kosaku (Tokita), known as Dyna Yellow, is a part‑time gardener whose goal is to create idealised high‑yield crops. Rei (Hagiwara), the team’s sole female member, serves as Dyna Pink and aspires to invent a machine that will allow her to communicate with animals.
The Kassinca are commanded by the nine‑tailed Emperor Aton (Watabe), a ruthless leader supported by the seven‑tailed General Kar, who directs the army of single‑tailed Tailmen, the primary foot soldiers of the invasion.
Beyond the Tailmen, the Dynaman team confronts a succession of weekly monsters, each presenting a greater threat. These adversaries are countered through the team’s specialised vehicles. Dyjupiter, a massive caterpillar‑track carrier, deploys their individual machines, a big‑rig, a tank, and a jet, each capable of independent action. These vehicles can combine to form Dyna Garry, a giant, sword‑wielding robot that serves as the team’s ultimate combat asset.
