Summary
On the night of their nineteenth birthday, step‑brothers Kotaro Minami and Nobuhiko Akizuki are abducted by the cult‑like organisation Gorgom and subjected to a transformative mutant surgery intended to prepare them as candidates for the role of Century King. Kotaro escapes before undergoing the final brainwashing phase, aided by his foster father, and subsequently turns against Gorgom.
Kotaro soon learns the full circumstances of his past: Gorgom murdered his biological parents, and both he and Nobuhiko were born during a solar eclipse, an omen that led Gorgom to designate them “Black Sun” and “Shadow Moon.” Assuming the mantle of Kamen Rider Black, Kotaro commits himself to protecting Japan and rescuing his step‑brother from Gorgom’s control.
As the conflict escalates, Nobuhiko ultimately reappears as Shadow Moon, now fully indoctrinated and prepared to challenge Kotaro for the title of Century King. Their confrontation becomes the central struggle of the narrative, with the surviving brother destined to inherit Gorgom’s throne.
