Summary
Kamen Rider Gaim takes place in Zawame City, reshaped into a jōkamachi under the influence of the Yggdrasill Corporation. In response to the city’s growing sense of oppression, local youths form dance crews called Beat Riders, while a popular pastime, the Inves Game, uses Lockseeds to summon creatures known as Inves. Kota Kazuraba, a member of Team Gaim, struggles to find direction in life until he discovers that the Lockseeds originate from Helheim Forest, an alternate dimension filled with dangerous plants and Inves.
After finding the Sengoku Driver and the Orange Lockseed, Kota becomes Armored Rider Gaim. Other Armored Riders soon emerge, including Kaito Kumon (Baron), Mitsuzane Kureshima (Ryugen), Ryoji Hase (Kurokage), Hideyasu Jonouchi (Gridon), and Oren Pierre Alfonso (Bravo). Unbeknownst to them, Yggdrasill monitors the Inves Games, led by Mitsuzane’s brother Takatora, secretly the white Armored Rider Zangetsu.
Kota later learns the truth of Helheim: its plants destroyed a once‑advanced civilisation, and eating their fruit transforms humans into Inves. As factions clash over Helheim’s power, Kota allies with DJ Sagara, who reveals the existence of the Overlords, evolved Inves. The conflict escalates when Kaito gains forbidden power, mutates into a monstrous form, and seeks to overturn the world’s status quo. Kota defeats him and departs with Mai to another world, leaving Mitsuzane and the remaining Riders to confront a final threat: Kogane.
