Summary
Adachi Asumu, a middle‑school student approaching graduation, becomes entangled in a hidden conflict during a visit to his relatives. There he encounters Hibiki, an eccentric man who reveals his true nature when Asumu’s cousin is abducted by the Makamou, ancient man‑eating creatures that prey upon humans. In the ensuing rescue, Hibiki transforms into an Oni, field operatives of Takeshi, an organisation dedicated to Makamou extermination, thereby exposing Asumu to a world of disciplined training, supernatural combat, and strict duty.
Inspired by Hibiki’s example, Asumu begins observing and learning from the Oni and their support network. He meets Hibiki’s colleagues: the composed and perceptive Ibuki, and the earnest rookie Todoroki, both of whom serve as additional models of Takeshi’s ideals. Over the course of 2005, Asumu’s life becomes increasingly shaped by these encounters, marking the year as a formative period in which he confronts danger, responsibility, and personal growth within the action‑drama narrative of Kamen Rider Hibiki.
