Summary
An organisation known as ZECT is established to combat WORM, a clandestine kaijin faction whose most advanced members prove overwhelmingly superior to conventional human resistance. Although ZECT deploys its paramilitary Zect Troopers as a first line of defence, these units are unable to withstand the power of the specialised Worm variants. In response, ZECT develops the Masked Rider System, a transformation belt engineered to convert its user into a mechanised, beetle‑armoured combatant capable of matching and surpassing WORM’s capabilities. The system possesses additional functions and concealed mechanisms that become central to the unfolding narrative.
The story centres on Tendō Sōji, a young man selected to wield the system and assume the mantle of Kamen Rider Kabuto, positioning him at the forefront of ZECT’s struggle against WORM and the mysteries surrounding both organisations.
