Summary
Baku Yorozu, an unlucky young man who dreams of joining the covert organisation CODE, is unexpectedly recruited after encountering the dream‑spawned creatures known as Nightmares. Granted the ZEZTZ Driver and its Capsem‑based transformations, he becomes Kamen Rider ZEZTZ and fights Nightmares across both reality and the dream realm while uncovering the hidden workings of CODE.
He is aided in the real world by detective Tetsuya Fujimi and Nasuka Nagumo, and in dreams by Nem, a beloved celebrity who appears only within dreamscapes. Baku learns that Nem is comatose in reality, prompting him to seek her recovery. His principal adversary, Nox, is revealed to be Kensei Odaka, a former CODE agent and Fujimi’s missing assistant. Zero guides Baku remotely, often through the motorcycle‑transforming android CODE Zeroider.
As CODE activates additional agents, Baku is betrayed and killed during an attack, only to awaken in hospital at the moment following his earlier accident. Realising his experiences were a premonition and retaining both his knowledge and the ZEZTZ Driver, he reunites with his allies to avert the future he foresaw. The conflict escalates further with the return of Sieg, a former agent imprisoned for a millennium after merging with a Nightmare, and with the emergence of the Gore Nightmares, forcing Baku to confront concealed truths and determine his role in the unfolding crisis.
