Summary
Naoto Tamura, a newly appointed detective in Central City, is killed in the line of duty by a Bionoid monster created by the criminal organisation Bioron. Doctor Kenzo Igarashi, whose earlier research inadvertently enabled Bioron’s rise, recovers Tamura’s body and resurrects him as Jiban, a cybernetic police officer engineered to combat the syndicate’s bio‑mechanical threats.
Over the course of his campaign against Bioron, Jiban is ultimately destroyed by Madogarbo and Rhinonoid, but is later revived in an upgraded form known as Perfect Jiban, distinguished by a blue‑coloured armour and three additional weapons while retaining the core design of his original body.
In the series finale, Bioron annihilates Jiban’s headquarters and transforms Madogarbo into a duplicate of Jiban himself. Jiban defeats the impostor and subsequently destroys Gibanoid, the true form of Bioron’s leader, Doctor Giba. In the aftermath of the conflict, Jiban learns that Mayumi Igarashi, the only civilian aware of his secret identity, was in fact his long‑missing younger sister.
