Summary
Lee Gon is portrayed as the third emperor of the Korean monarchy in his generation, a figure widely regarded by his subjects as an exemplar of stability and leadership. Yet beneath this cultivated image lies a formative trauma: at the age of eight, he witnessed the assassination of his father during a violent coup, an event that left a lasting psychological scar. In adulthood, Lee Gon frequently shirks the ceremonial obligations of his office, choosing instead to slip away from the palace to attend academic lectures and university symposia. During one such excursion, he unexpectedly crosses into a parallel reality, where he encounters Inspector Jeong Tae‑eul. The two form an alliance to confront interdimensional criminal activity and ultimately work to seal the passage connecting their worlds.
