Summary

In 1940, Republic Pictures released King of the Royal Mounted, a chapter serial centred on the patriotic activities of Sergeant King (Lane). Its dramatic impact was somewhat constrained by the studio’s decision not to identify the antagonists explicitly as German agents, reflecting the fact that the United States had not yet entered the war, yet the production nevertheless achieved considerable popular success. This sequel, produced after America’s entry into the conflict, adopts a more direct wartime stance: the adversaries are clearly delineated as operatives of Germany, Japan, and Italy, engaged in preparations for an Axis assault on Canada by means of aerial bombardment from an undetectable aircraft.

The plot turns on the murder of an inventor who has developed a new type of aircraft‑detection device. Sergeant King is tasked with safeguarding the invention and pursuing the enemy agents responsible. His mission expands when the inventor’s daughter, Drake, is abducted by Axis operatives, compelling him to undertake both the protection of the device and her rescue.
