Summary
An enigmatic mastermind known only as Dr. Vulcan, heard as a disembodied voice and glimpsed solely as a shadow cast against a brightly lit wall, initiates a campaign for global domination. His strategy begins with the systematic elimination of the Science Associates, a consortium comprising the nation’s foremost scientific authorities.
One member, Dr. Millard (James Craven), narrowly survives an assassination attempt and subsequently disappears into hiding. Before doing so, he equips fellow scientist Jeff King (Tristram Coffin) with a suite of experimental technologies they had been developing: an atomic‑powered rocket backpack integrated into a reinforced leather flying jacket, an aerodynamic bullet‑shaped helmet, and a handheld raygun. With these devices, King adopts the identity of Rocket Man.
Assisted by reporter‑photographer Glenda Thomas (Mae Clarke), Rocket Man confronts Dr. Vulcan and his operatives across twelve action‑driven serial chapters. The conflict escalates when Vulcan steals Millard’s most destructive creation, the Sonic Decimator, using it first to inundate and then obliterate New York City. Ultimately, Rocket Man unmasks the elusive Dr. Vulcan and brings him to justice.
