Summary
After a catastrophic train accident in a tunnel, a small group of survivors manages to reach the surface, only to discover that the Earth has been devastated by the impact of a giant meteorite. Unbeknownst to them, the Ministry of Defence had developed a specialised chemical agent intended to cryogenically preserve key personnel at the moment of impact. One of the scientists responsible for the compound was travelling aboard the train when the meteor struck, causing the substance to leak throughout the carriage.
Exposed to the chemical, the survivors are inadvertently frozen for more than fifty years. Upon awakening, they find themselves in a radically transformed world where feral, aggressive dogs roam freely and vegetation has grown unchecked, overwhelming the remnants of civilisation. As they attempt to navigate this hostile environment, many perish while striving to reach an underground military bunker, believed to contain supplies and possibly other survivors.
