Summary

Set in 2011, the narrative takes place in Neo‑Kabukichō, a fictionalised reinterpretation of Shinjuku’s real red‑light district in Tokyo. The area is experiencing a surge in violent incidents attributed to “Skull Eyes”, a new contact‑lens‑based narcotic that transforms its users into enhanced individuals known as Kabukimono. Within this heightened environment, the story follows the modern‑day reincarnations of Lion‑Maru and Tiger Joe, reimagining the central figures from the original Lion-Maru series in a contemporary urban setting.
