Summary
Toby is a twenty‑eight‑year‑old first‑year paramedic who grew up in foster care and never knew his father. He has long concealed his premonitory episodes and his ability to perceive the surface thoughts of others, confiding only in his former counsellor, Dr. Ray Mercer (Colm Feore). As Toby and his partner, Osman “Oz” Bey (Ennis Esmer), traverse Toronto responding to emergencies, he assists individuals in crisis while gradually confronting unresolved elements of his past.
With support from Detective Charlie Marks (Lisa Marcos) and his intermittent partner Olivia Fawcett (Mylène Dinh‑Robic), an emergency‑room physician, Toby comes to recognise that his abilities can be directed toward helping others.
