Summary
Jonathan and Martha Kent discover the crash‑landed spacecraft in Shuster’s Field on May 17, 1966, and adopt the infant Kal‑El as Clark Jerome Kent. In 1993, the 27‑year‑old Clark moves to Metropolis, joins the Daily Planet, and meets Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, and Cat Grant. Seeking to help others without revealing his extra-terrestrial identity, he adopts a costumed persona as Superman.
Paired with investigative reporter Lois Lane, Clark develops feelings for her, while Lois becomes enamoured with Superman and initially dismisses Clark. Over time, she recognises his abilities and integrity, and they form a close friendship. A holographic globe later reveals that Clark’s parents sent him to Earth to save him from Krypton’s destruction.
Superman’s activities disrupt the criminal enterprises of Lex Luthor, a powerful Metropolis industrialist whose benevolent public image conceals his illicit operations.
