Summary
Judd Holdren, who had appeared in the final cycle of science‑fiction serials produced by both Columbia and Republic, serves as the central protagonist , a reporter who ultimately becomes the saviour of the galaxy. The traditional ambition of world domination, long favoured by antagonists of the 1930s and 1940s, is expanded here to cosmic proportions, even as the budgets of late‑period serials contracted. James Fox portrays the deranged scientist, while Vaughn Taylor appears as the eccentric researcher he abducts. The conclusion is emblematic of the genre’s heightened melodrama: attempting to flee, Fox boards his cosmojet and instructs his robot to set a course for deep space, only for the machine to miscalculate and direct the craft toward infinity.
