Summary
TV reporter David Rudy, based in Albuquerque, is demoted following an ill‑fated and widely ridiculed incident involving a chimpanzee. Although romantically involved with the daughter of his overbearing supervisor, Rudy avoids dismissal by accepting an assignment to present a children’s puppet programme. The series, initially perceived as a trivial obligation, is soon revealed to feature puppets that are in fact extra-terrestrial beings stranded on Earth.
