Summary
The story follows He Zhen Yu, a once‑celebrated lawyer whose career collapses after he undertakes a high‑profile divorce case involving a famous actress who was also his childhood friend. Accused of fabricating evidence, He Zhen Yu loses both his professional standing and his reputation, prompting him to withdraw from public life and relocate to an ageing, secluded apartment building. There, he begins to witness unusual phenomena, including the recurring appearance of a woman’s shadow whenever the clock reaches 10:06 p.m.
Initially believing the figure to be a ghost, He Zhen Yu eventually discovers that the woman is Chen Jia Lan, a novice reporter and former tenant who lived in the apartment four months earlier. Through an unexplained temporal anomaly, the two are able to see and communicate with one another despite existing in different points in time. Although He Zhen Yu first intends to use this connection to alter the events that destroyed his career, their interactions gradually develop into a romantic attachment.
As their relationship deepens, He Zhen Yu is forced to confront the unresolved divorce case that precipitated his downfall, an unresolved matter that continues to cast a shadow over both his past and his uncertain future.
