Summary
The series chronicles the transformation of Luke Cage, a man who acquires superhuman strength and near‑impervious skin following a sabotaged scientific experiment. Forced into hiding, he attempts to rebuild his life in Harlem, where he is gradually drawn into confronting criminal forces that threaten the community. As Cage faces the consequences of his past, he becomes an emblematic defender of the neighbourhood, fighting to protect the people and the cultural identity of Harlem.
After ultimately clearing his name, Cage emerges as both a recognised hero and a local celebrity. His elevated status, however, brings new complications. A formidable adversary soon appears, compelling Cage to examine the moral boundaries of his own actions and to navigate the increasingly blurred line between heroism and vigilantism.
