Summary
Mammoth follows Tony Mammoth, a Welsh physical‑education teacher who is caught in an avalanche while supervising a school skiing trip on New Year’s Eve in 1979. His body is recovered forty‑five years later, perfectly preserved, and he is successfully revived on New Year’s Day 2024. After a brief period of public fascination surrounding his return, Mammoth, chronologically in his nineties but physically resembling a man in his forties, resumes his former position at the school, attempting to navigate contemporary society.
