Summary
An extra-terrestrial visitor crash‑lands in the oilfields of New Mexico on a critical mission to locate Justin Falls, a gifted scientist whose expertise represents the sole hope for the survival of his species. As the alien struggles to acclimate to human society and adopt its behavioural norms, Falls herself grapples with a profound disillusionment regarding humanity’s future. Despite their contrasting perspectives, the two form an unlikely partnership and come to realise that the preservation of his world is contingent upon safeguarding their own. The narrative serves as an inspired continuation of Walter Tevis’s novel The Man Who Fell to Earth and the 1976 film adaptation starring David Bowie.
