Summary
On 7 April 2013, Montego Air Flight 828 encounters a brief but intense episode of turbulence while travelling from Jamaica to New York City. Upon landing at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York, the aircraft’s 191 passengers and crew are informed by NSA deputy director Robert “Bobby” Vance that more than five and a half years have elapsed during the flight, despite the travellers experiencing only a routine journey. During the intervening period, all aboard had been declared missing and presumed dead.
As the passengers reintegrate into society, they confront the profound personal and social consequences of their unexpected return, including altered family dynamics, changed circumstances, and the passage of time they did not experience. Concurrently, many begin to receive involuntary auditory and visual phenomena, described as callings, which manifest as guiding impressions or visions of events yet to occur.
