Summary
Manimal was a short‑lived American crime drama centred on Professor Jonathan Chase, a specialist in animal behaviour who possessed the extraordinary ability to transform into any animal. Chase, a faculty member at New York University, had acquired this skill from his late father, who was said to have learned it during his time in Africa. In addition to his academic career, Chase served as a consultant to the New York Police Department, advising on matters involving the use of animals in criminal activity. His role soon expanded beyond consultancy, as he employed his transformative abilities to assist in the apprehension of criminals. Only two individuals were aware of Chase’s secret: Officer Brooke Mackenzie, his primary contact within the police department and a subtle romantic interest, and Tyrone C. Earl, a close friend whom Chase had met during their military service in Vietnam.
