Summary
In Marine Kong, a giant, 40‑metre‑tall dinosaur‑like construct emerges from the ocean and launches an attack on Hiratsuka. When Dr. Yada, a prominent scientist, determines that the creature is emitting radio waves, he concludes that Marine Kong is an artificial creation rather than a biological organism. The machine is revealed to have been built by the terrorist organisation known as the Z‑Gang, who intend to use it as a weapon in their effort to overthrow the Japanese government. Marine Kong is operated remotely through a wireless transmission device, allowing the Z‑Gang to direct its movements and attacks.
Dr. Yada ultimately develops a jamming radio wave capable of disrupting the control signals, causing Marine Kong to malfunction and self‑destruct. In the subsequent story arc, the Z‑Gang reconstructs the destroyed machine into a more powerful version, once again intending to use it as a strategic weapon. Dr. Yada, however, succeeds in intercepting and overriding the control waves, enabling him to reconfigure the creature’s programming. He assigns command authority to his son, Kazuo, who directs Marine Kong against the Z‑Gang, bringing their plans to an end.
