Summary
Visicron is a software innovation created by fifteen‑year‑old Oliver Cates, designed to transport historical figures into the contemporary world for a period of thirty‑six hours. When confronted with difficulties, Cates and his friend Dee Sampson, also aged fifteen, independently select notable individuals from the past whose expertise or experiences may assist them in resolving the challenges they face.
Through these encounters, the protagonists gain insights into the lives and personalities of figures such as Albert Einstein, Joan of Arc, Lewis Carroll, Napoleon Bonaparte and Oscar Wilde, details that extend beyond conventional textbook accounts. The narrative juxtaposes prominent historical individuals with modern settings, generating humorous and engaging situations while presenting history in an accessible and entertaining manner. Although not overtly didactic, each story encourages constructive values, critical reasoning and independent thought.
