Summary
Prominent politician Gonosue Yabuki (Yanaga) anticipates the escalating threat posed by Q, a technologically advanced terrorist organisation, and consequently establishes an elite counter‑terrorism unit to oppose it. The resulting team, known as Mighty Jack, comprises eleven members whose areas of expertise vary considerably. Some possess skills directly applicable to covert operations, such as team leader Hachiro (Nitani), a professional mountaineer, and lieutenant Akira (Nihei), a test pilot, while others, including deputy Ippei (Minami), a professional golfer, contribute more unconventional backgrounds.
Each time Q’s cat‑stroking mastermind initiates a new attempt at global domination, the Mighty Jack team convenes at its concealed headquarters and deploys aboard the organisation’s principal asset: the flying battleship Mighty Jack, ordinarily housed within an underground base. Once airborne, the crew can assemble mission‑specific equipment en-route to the target location by utilising the vessel’s onboard weapons‑manufacturing facilities.
