Summary
The drama employs an original narrative distinct from the source manga, centring on twelve individuals who acquire future diaries, devices capable of recording predictions that subsequently come to pass. Each diary holder becomes an unwilling participant in a lethal survival game, in which they must use the prophetic information granted by their diaries to eliminate the others. The final surviving participant earns the right to ascend to the so‑called God’s seat.
At the centre of the story is Hoshino Arata, an indolent university student who rejects the notion of striving toward long‑term goals. His life is abruptly altered when his mobile phone transforms into a future diary, drawing him into the deadly contest and forcing him to confront both the consequences of his apathy and the escalating dangers posed by the other diary holders.
Not to be confused with the Anime version which aired between 2011 and 2013.
