Summary
Don Dorneo (Otomo), the head of the Launders crime syndicate, escapes from the 30th century and seeks refuge at the dawn of the 21st. Four officers of the Time Protection Team (TPT) pursue him into the past but, recognising the need for additional support, recruit an unwilling passer‑by, Ryuya (Nagai), to serve as Red Time Ranger, a role for which his proficiency in karate proves unexpectedly advantageous.
Ryuya’s TPT associates comprise Ayase (Kido), an agile operative diagnosed with a terminal illness who fights as Time Blue; Sion (Kuranuki), the team’s intelligence and communications specialist who transforms into Time Green; Domon (Koizumi), a practitioner of the 30th‑century martial art known as Grapp, who becomes Time Yellow; and Yuri (Katsumura), formerly of the Intercity Anti‑Organized Crime Squad, whose extensive knowledge of weaponry supports her role as Time Pink.
Their principal adversary, Don Dorneo, has commandeered an entire prison during his flight from the future and periodically releases its monstrous inmates to commit crimes in the year 2000. This device provides the narrative framework for the series’ recurring monster‑of‑the‑week format, characteristic of many instalments attributed to Saburo Yatsude within the long‑running Super Sentai franchise.
