Summary
The narrative follows Minty, a young girl sent to live with her aunt while her mother recovers from injuries sustained in a car accident. During her stay, Minty (portrayed by Siri Neal) frequently explores the grounds of a nearby mansion, where she becomes fascinated by an ornate sundial. This device serves as a temporal gateway, transporting her to the Victorian era. There, she befriends two children, Tom (Tony Sands) and Sarah (Helena Avellano), and becomes entangled in their troubled circumstances, ultimately undertaking efforts to alter the course of their unhappy lives.
