Summary
Set three generations after humanity evacuated a dying Earth, the series depicts a society established within a 500‑square‑mile lunar colony. Unlike earlier visions of the Moon as a potential replacement for Earth, this settlement, known as Moonhaven, was founded with a different mandate: its inhabitants were entrusted with a sophisticated artificial intelligence system designed to develop solutions capable of restoring Earth’s ecological and social stability.
As the narrative opens, a new generation of Moonhaven residents prepares for a pivotal undertaking. Having refined the knowledge and methodologies intended to aid Earth’s recovery, they stand on the threshold of returning to the planet as part of a final humanitarian initiative, conceived as a last attempt to avert global collapse.
