Summary
Wu Yu, a university mathematics major employed professionally as a mechanic, encounters Tan Jiao, a writer of mystery fiction, when she seeks repairs for her car. Although their meeting appears incidental, Tan Jiao experiences a strong sense of familiarity, prompting the discovery that an entire year of her life has inexplicably vanished from her memory.
Subsequent investigation suggests that the missing period may be connected to a maritime voyage , a cruise on which both individuals had previously travelled. Determined to reconstruct the events of that journey, the pair confront an additional complication: Wu Yu himself retains no memory of his time aboard the vessel.
Their search for answers gains urgency when evidence emerges linking the cruise to the unsolved murder of Wu Yu’s sister. Through the phenomenon of time travel, Wu Yu and Tan Jiao attempt not only to recover their lost memories and prevent the crime, but also to understand the circumstances that led them into this temporal anomaly.
