Summary
Mycenae is a robot originating from a distant future era. He resides on the Closed Planet, a self‑contained and labyrinthine world situated within a complex alternate universe and populated by unusual beings distinguished by their egg‑shaped heads. The planet becomes the involuntary prison of a teacher and a nurse from 1972, who are transported there after inadvertently passing through a temporal portal.
Mycenae assists the two displaced humans in navigating the planet’s intricate environment and ultimately enables their escape. He subsequently accompanies them back to the year 1972, establishing a link between his futuristic civilisation and contemporary Earth.
