Summary
Governor Bronson, who has raised Bob Wayne since childhood following the death of Wayne’s parents, is murdered by Doctor Satan, a mad scientist intent on achieving world domination. Anticipating his own demise, consistent with the fate of all who have opposed Doctor Satan, the Governor reveals a long‑kept secret to Wayne. Bob’s father had in fact been an outlaw of the Old West, a vigilante who fought injustice while wearing a chainmail cowl and leaving small coiled copper snakes as his signature calling card.
After Bronson’s death, Wayne resolves to assume his father’s former identity as the Copperhead, adopting both the persona and the distinctive cowl. Doctor Satan, meanwhile, seeks to obtain a remote‑control device developed by Professor Scott, the final component required to complete his army of killer robots and secure the power and wealth he desires.
As the Copperhead, Wayne confronts Doctor Satan, rescues Professor Scott and other captives, and ultimately prevents the scientist from executing his scheme.
