Summary
For centuries, the ancient ninja clans of Japan have lived in seclusion within remote forests and mountainous regions, emerging only intermittently to serve shoguns and warlords, to destabilise rival governments, or to acquire strategic intelligence. Among these groups is the Fuuma Ninja Clan, a secretive lineage that elects to abandon its isolation and employ its specialised skills in a bid to seize control of Japan. Under the leadership of the calculating clansman Retpuu, the Fuuma initiate an aggressive campaign, including attempts to obtain advanced weaponry to further their ambitions.
One Fuuma ninja, Izumo Daisuke, experiences a crisis of loyalty and ultimately defects from the clan. After escaping to Tokyo, he is rescued by the enigmatic ninja master Tendou Mujin, who has anticipated the emergence of rogue ninja factions. In response, Tendou Mujin assembles a cadre of elite ninja practitioners tasked with defending humanity from such threats. He appoints Daisuke as the leader of this group, which adopts the name Captor Team. Comprising seven highly trained warriors, the Captor Team utilises diverse ninjutsu techniques and advanced armaments to counter Retpuu’s designs and prevent the Fuuma from achieving dominion over Japan.
Subsequently, the previously peaceful Koga Ninja Clan falls under the influence of its unstable eighteenth leader, Kurayami Nindou, who becomes intent on emulating the Fuuma’s expansionist aspirations and pursuing global conquest. The Captor Team again intervenes, opposing the Koga clan’s descent into aggression and confronting the threat posed by Kurayami’s leadership.
