Summary
Two millennia earlier, on the planet Chikyu, a coalition of heroes united to repel the Underground Empire Bug Naraku, ultimately driving the invaders into the planet’s subterranean strata through the intervention of their guardian deity, Legend King‑Ohger. Following the victory, the group dissolved, and five of its members established the kingdoms of Shugodom, Nkosopa, Ishabana, Gokkan, and Tofu. A prophecy subsequently circulated, foretelling the eventual resurgence of the Bug Naraku.
In the present era, fifteen years after a cataclysm known as the Wrath of God, an attempted alliance among the contemporary rulers collapses when the Bug Naraku launch an assault on Shugodom under a genocide directive issued by their sovereign, King Dezunaraku VIII. During the crisis, a Shugodom youth, Gira, discovers that his monarch, King Rcules Husty, intends to exploit the conflict to justify the forced unification of the five kingdoms under his personal rule. Repulsed by Rcules’ willingness to sacrifice his subjects, Gira seizes the Ohger Calibur, the ceremonial emblem of royal authority, and proclaims himself an evil king dedicated to ending Rcules’ tyranny.
This act awakens the Shugods that combine to form King‑Ohger, though Gira is branded a traitor until later revealed to be Rcules’ long‑missing younger brother. Gira subsequently forges an alliance with the rulers of the other kingdoms, President Yanma Gast of Nkosopa, Queen Hymeno Ran of Ishabana, Chief Justice Rita Kaniska of Gokkan, and Overlord Kaguragi Dybowski of Tofu. Together, they seek to defend Chikyu from the renewed threat of the Bug Naraku, overthrow Rcules, and assemble the remaining Shugods required to restore Legend King‑Ohger.
