Summary
Forty‑six years earlier, Minoru Kurihara (portrayed by Tatsuya Fujiwara) disappeared while photographing a remote mountain region and was presumed dead. In the present day, his body is discovered perfectly preserved within a mass of ice, from which he unexpectedly awakens.
The Kurihara household is now headed by Norihiko Kurihara (Katsumi Takahashi), Minoru’s 52‑year‑old son. The family also includes Minoru’s grandson Kensuke (Shunsuke Daitō) and granddaughter Mai (Kana Kurashina). Their domestic life is abruptly disrupted by Minoru’s return, as he retains the appearance of a 25‑year‑old despite being chronologically 71.
Initially unable to interact comfortably with his descendants or adapt to contemporary society, Minoru gradually acclimates to the modern era. As he adjusts to the profound changes that have occurred during his absence, the Kurihara family begins to reconcile with his reappearance and the transformation it brings to their lives.
