Summary
Sara Aoyama, portrayed by Kang Ji‑Young, is an orphan who has become a single mother. Throughout her life she has endured persistent poverty, social marginalisation, and a series of hardships that ultimately resulted in her separation from her daughter. Convinced that financial security would fundamentally alter her circumstances, she aspires to rebuild her life through economic stability.
Her situation changes abruptly when she witnesses a woman commit suicide by stepping in front of an oncoming train. The deceased woman bears an uncanny resemblance to her, effectively functioning as a doppelgänger. Shocked by the incident, Sara retrieves the woman’s bag, an action that initiates a sequence of unforeseen and transformative events in her life.
