Summary
During a routine patrol operation, Sergeant Ling San‑Fung of the Emergency Unit becomes involved in the pursuit of a fleeing suspect. The situation escalates into an armed confrontation, during which San‑Fung’s father is fatally struck by a stray bullet. In the aftermath, San‑Fung continues the chase, but an anomalous natural phenomenon abruptly transports her back in time to the 1st April, three days before the incident. Recognising that she has acquired the ability to travel through time, she resolves to use this newfound power to prevent her father’s death.
San‑Fung’s intervention in the timeline, however, triggers a series of unforeseen and destabilising consequences. Ditch, a village chief and informant for the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), uncovers her temporal abilities and exploits them in his efforts to investigate police corruption, while concealing a secret that reveals his true identity. San‑Fung subsequently learns that she is not the sole individual capable of temporal displacement. As she confronts the implications of her actions, she discovers that altering past events does not grant her control over the future, and that each change introduces new and unpredictable outcomes.
